POST:FEMALE (2025) is a looping moving image work that deploys my AI twin, Faet, to expose feminine desire economies and parasocial relationships. Constructed from an archive of self-portraits generated throughout my Hormone Replacement Therapy (2022–2025), the work examines how bodily data can be reclaimed and re-performed through synthetic image systems. Performing as a satirical “sex doll,” Faet reflects the pressures placed on trans women to inhabit hyper-produced gender aesthetics while impacted by the hand of American anti-trans legislation. In this sense, the work positions trans life as an ongoing durational performance enacted for survival within post-colonial and techno-capitalist conditions. The looping .GIF structure queers the logic of endurance: the offline body rests while its mechanic double continues the labor of visibility, mirroring the extractive demands of digital economies such as camming, platformed intimacy, and monetized self-representation. Referencing 1980s New York ballroom culture—where “doll” signified both aspiration and kinship among trans femmes of color—the work traces how this language has been recirculated into contemporary pop spectacle and commodified identity. Faet represents a figure that is both disposable and eternal, situated between the history of trans figures and contemporary technological expression. The recurring online question, “are you real?”, underscores the collapse between humanness and representation. Spectatorship signals the complicity of trans genocide and further femicide in America, asking whether watching can resist the erasure of third-gender histories.
