Post-Hyperreal Landscape Ⅲ

his work extends the notion of the hyperreal beyond Baudrillard’s dissolution of the boundary between simulation and reality. Rather than understanding simulation as a copy whose distinction from reality has become unstable, it considers simulation itself as a reality—an autonomous manifestation capable of generating its own perceptual and aesthetic conditions. The work pushes this condition further: multiple realities coexist while their boundaries continuously become indeterminate, without their autonomy being dissolved. Each reality remains irreducible to the others, yet continually negotiates, interferes with, and reshapes them. This condition is produced through the actual structure of the work. Multiple heterogeneous video realities—an artificial-life simulation, its performative re-mediations, documentary footage of a devastating rain disaster in Japan, and other visual materials—are layered through compositing, fades, and transitions. No image is allowed to appear completely on its own. One reality emerges while another remains present, recedes while another enters, and overlaps without ever becoming fully integrated. The image is therefore continuously formed through an unstable coexistence of realities whose boundaries cannot be clearly located. The same principle extends to sound and filtration. Noise music exists as an autonomous temporal and affective reality rather than as an accompaniment to the image. Filtration does not simply modify an existing image but generates another perceptual layer whose status cannot be reduced to either the original image or the process itself. The work therefore does not seek synthesis or coherence. Its editing produces a relational ecology in which autonomous realities remain in persistent negotiation. They affect one another without becoming one. Meaning emerges not through representation or correspondence, but through this ongoing negotiation. What appears is neither narrative nor synthesis, but a post-hyperreal condition in which realities continuously become otherwise while remaining irreducibly themselves.
