Of Two Minds (AR Version)

Of Two Minds (AR Version) This documents one aspect of my Of Two Minds project. The entire project synthesized a number of leading technologies, including AI, VR and LLMs. This blending of technologies enabled the user to experience the real-time interaction of human intelligence with hybrid AI in a particularly vivid way. The focus was a "visit" with the pioneering android robot Bina48, whose appearance and AI mind-files were based on the real-life Bina Rothblatt. The visit took place in a point-cloud replication of the android’s real-life apartment. By taking a seat and donning a VR headset, the participant encountered a realistic avatar of Bina48 and could engage in a one-on-one conversation with this avatar—and Bina Rothblatt’s AI mind file—in real-time. Shown here is an example of the AR form of the project, in which the user could engage directly with the avatar in any location.
