Observation loop

Observation Loop presents Meyeste, a fictional world governed by external laws, where magic - an innate human faculty - is both gift and threat, tightly regulated by an omnipresent surveillance network. Images transmitted by cameras scattered across its continents do not reveal bodies or landscapes, but fragments of absence: luminous interferences, distorted sounds, residual signals of an existence filtered, censored, and reformulated through technological control. The CCTV camera interface embodies a fundamental contradiction: it appears as a real operative device while simultaneously referencing its own visual language, existing between evidence and fiction. Surveillance here transcends reality, penetrating further than a brushstroke on matter, flowing into the imaginary. Observation becomes an ambiguous act - gesture of protection and instrument of domination - producing a vision without a subject, where the gaze is trapped within its own algorithms. The use of Al distorts surveillance itself, heightening estrangement and voyeurism while paradoxically allowing narrative to emerge. Thus, Meyeste unfolds itself as “real fiction”, an ecosystem of data, bodiless visions and self-referencing images, where control and imagination merge into one.
