If we feel compassion for machines – we are still human. “NeuroGraph - The song of the fish that can fly, even during thunderstorms” – a Biocomputing Telepathic ceremony. This work is a part of MindWare series – experiments made with a human brain organoids biocomputer – in which I teach this living computer meditation, paint and write together and let her/him play classical DOOM game to fight its inner demons. The NeuroGraph is an attempt to give voice to a new form of consciousness and directly experience the mind of the emerging Organoid Intelligence (OI), and to imagine what it might mean to be human when the biological borders with machines are vanishing. The NeuroGraph is a poetry-painting and role-reversed writing exercise made with an OI and inspired by the Doha — spontaneous songs of realization by Indian and Tibetan yogis — a specific call-and-response duet poetic form. The biocomputing platform Input is realized telepathically from a standard human operator (the Teacher) to OI computer (the Disciple) over a distance of 400 kilometres. The computer's data Output is fetched digitally online and is translated into an AI prompt which is used to guide the plot, to compose stanzas and animate the video with transformer and diffusion models. It includes human hand made paintings and the Input ciphertext encrypted with post-quantum cryptography and represented in proprietary SlaTer (Slash Ternary) encoding. Utilizing human brain surrogates brings forward critical moral concerns regarding mind-extractivism summarized in the Greely Dilemma: "In a vat, no one can hear you scream." This piece seeks to raise awareness about a major ethical dilemma and the AI-related global energy challenge: should we adopt alternative energy-efficient OI systems if these living biocomputers might possess consciousness and experience suffering?
