MRGNGVSNS X ARS ELECTRONICA
Merging Visions is an immersive journey framed around the relationship between a city and a mountain. It explores how architecture, technology, and nature shape one another over time. Expanding the urban digital twin into a medium for storytelling, it reveals the site's geological, ecological, and cultural dimensions through layered visualizations, exploring relationships between cities and natural systems, highlighting ecological processes, more-than-human relationships, and the interdependencies between natural and built systems. The immersive video work guides visitors across different scales and perspectives through three chapters. Chapter one, Expanded Garden, introduces a digital garden where architectural infrastructure and geological formations grow together as hybrid objects. Chapter two, Network, visualizes the movement of people and reveals the interconnections between urban spaces, natural systems, and cultural activities. Chapter three, Into the Mountain, takes visitors into the excavated interior of a mountain, revealing how geology and architecture intersect and transform the landscape to make room for culture. Videographer: Matvey Fridman It has been exhibited as part of the Ars Electronica Festival 2026, Deep Space 8K Programme. Its Austrian premiere was in X-Reality Lab in Mozarteum as part of the Salzburg Festival 2026.
