MALI
This film presents a linear walkthrough of MALI, an interactive virtual reality experience set within a metaphysical memory garden. The video guides viewers through the virtual environment as voiceover and personal anecdotes unfold, introducing the project’s exploration of memory, identity, and care. The original VR installation allows visitors to move through the garden freely and interact with its memories. This version offers a non-interactive, cinematic interpretation of the experience. The garden is informed and inspired by Pierre Nora’s concept of “lieux de mémoire” as a place that acts as a container of memory. Like Nora’s idea of symbolic places that hold historical and emotional weight, the garden becomes a place where memories are preserved, interacted with, and kept alive. It stands not as a literal archive, but as a living space of reflection where memory resists forgetting by being reimagined and revisited.
