Layer of Perception

Acrylic on Canvas I 24" x 30" I 2026 In my early work, I painted eucalyptus trees for their beauty. I found them visually striking, especially because of the versatile colors of their bark. However, during my research, I realized that this tree is invasive and can harm native ecosystems in India. This shifted my perception. In this work, I attempt to show the breaking and layering of these perceptions. These layered perceptions also reveal the economic aspects of tree plantations and their social significance, as trees quietly merge into human life. The non-native trees depicted in my work seamlessly adapt to their surroundings, symbolizing this silent transformation.
