Goodbye History

What if it were actually elephants who taught us humans how to mourn our dead? A speculative documentary. Starting from the scientific observation that elephants perform funeral rituals — they touch the dead, remain beside them, return to visit them over time — the piece proposes an inversion: that hominids did not invent grief, but learned it by watching. The scenes reconstruct this foundational transmission through the voiceover of Jorge Luis Borges and AI-generated images. The work does not attempt to prove anything, but to ask what becomes possible when we choose to suppose a different truth.
