Gaung Raksa Buana

Gaung Raksa Buana is a generative audiovisual work inspired by photographs of stone textures at Pura Agung Raksa Buana in Medan City, Indonesia. The stones serving as the visual source are andesite from Yogyakarta, which have undergone processes of distribution, processing, and weathering over time. These processes are not presented as intact forms, but rather as images reprocessed within an audiovisual system. The texture images are translated into color data (RGB) and converted into sound frequencies, which then influence the visuals in a feedback loop. In this process, the material evolves into a stream of data that triggers one another, producing distortions, shifts, and changes in intensity. This work does not seek to represent the original material, but rather to showcase how the system shapes an ongoing experience.
