Fruiting Bodies is a living ecosystem of artists, spaces, and texts: drifting, connecting, and dissolving in real time. Drawing from the metaphor of fungal fruiting bodies, the visible expressions of vast hidden mycelial systems, it maps connections between artists, spaces, events, and knowledge as dynamic evolving constellations. An exercise in subterranean cartography: rendering invisible systems as though they were always meant to be seen. The work operates at the intersection of posthuman thought and anthropocene entanglement, tracing how cultural organisms persist, adapt, and decompose within planetary-scale systems. The work models an art ecosystem as a dynamic, self-organizing network, borrowing the logic of mycelial substrates, where concentrated nodes of activity are connected by vast, quiet stretches of invisible infrastructure. Nodes form emergent connections based on shared thematic material, then fade, mutate, and reform according to internal rhythms. The system breathes with circadian cycles, seasonal shifts, and celestial weather. It refuses to be fully legible: nodes may decline interaction, exhaust themselves, or simply disappear. What remains feels excavated rather than designed: a patient accumulation of visual evidence mapping relations, rhythms, and the slow metabolism of interconnected cultural systems. Three kinds: artists (rounded blobs), spaces (sharper triangular bodies), texts (small spore clusters). Connections: form when nodes share thematic tags like ecology, infrastructure, care, or decay. They live, weaken, and dissolve. A selected node highlights its direct neighbors and dims the rest. If a node has no live links yet, the reveal panel suggests kindred ones by tag. Tendrils: the soft threads reaching out from each node. They probe, retract, and sometimes find each other. The organism is searching, even when nothing answers back. Memory rings: accumulate around nodes you click or linger on. Quick fly-overs leave nothing behind, only attention is recorded. Refusal and exhaustion: part of the work. A node may decline to open, or grow tired after too many requests. Wait, return later, or follow another thread. Click a node to open it. Press esc, click outside, or × to close.
