Electronic Superhighway

Nam June Paik was a pioneer in incorporating video recording into art. In 1965, he used a Sony Portapak to capture Pope Paul VI. This footage considered a noteworthy piece of video art, showcased Paik’s early experimentation with the medium. Paik foresaw the materialization of a global broadband network capable of seamlessly exchanging data and videos. This forward-thinking concept was encapsulated in his coining of the “Electronic Superhighway.” It has since become a symbol of the interconnected digital age, reflecting the artist’s foresight into the future of communication.
