Dream Assault
I always wanted to paint the strange feeling of dreaming about a long-lost lover on a musical canvas as genuinely as possible. And i feel like i did it with this one. The idea struck me unexpectedly when one day, out of nowhere, when life was going ever so smoothly— I hear her voice in a dream— a girl I hadn’t thought about in six years. Flashes of how she looks now. Reminding me of everything i felt about her at the time. Its giving me goosebumps writing about it now. Strangely, in that dream - the voice i heard…. that voice.. I didn’t hear the voice of her from 6 years ago; it was the latest… same with how she looks now, she has changed soo much oh my god…very weird and strange. VERY. I remember waking up feeling shaken, with my heart pounding like nuts. It genuinely felt like a heartbreak. I’ve stopped asking god “Why would you do this to me?” when something bad happens in my life. Cause i know he is preparing me for something greater. So I very rarely do that. Unfortunately this experience drove me crazy and i was questioning my existence soo bad that i did —— I did ask him that. Why??! Why Now?!!… Interestingly, now that i am done with the song and i am finally putting it out into The Existence, I feel like this song was his reason. Goes to show Art is beyond human. It is divine. And even though it took me a while to finish this one, Everything came about so seamlessly that i got to pen every line with care—no lyrical fillers whatsoever. The imperfections are intentional, reflecting how dreams, can be so disordered, dull, strange, and heartbreaking. Especially those about a first love.
