Disnovation
“Behind the cynicism of innovation surely lies the despair that nothing ever happens anymore.” Lyotard, J.-F. (1988). The Inhuman. Galilée This installation offers a speculative projection into a future where discourse on technological innovation will have become obsolete. At the center of the work, a digital avatar of the artist, generated in real-time 3D using a video game engine, embodies the last representative of this outdated rhetoric. The avatar, superimposing three stages of life (adolescence, adulthood, and old age), delivers an uninterrupted monologue generated by a neural network. Its discourse blends elements related to innovation, artificial intelligence, personal development, and meditation, reproducing the standardized linguistic codes of the startup world. The work questions the temporality of technocratic languages and their inevitable obsolescence. By transforming what was once the dominant discourse of innovation into an artistic performance, the installation reveals the codified and potentially ephemeral nature of contemporary rhetoric surrounding technological progress.
