Diaphàinein

The video "Diaphainein," whose title in Greek means "seeing through," is inspired by ancient oracles. Almost as if peering through confused sensations and visions, it reveals molecules (hemoglobin – TNT – cocaine – testosterone – oxytocin – adrenaline – ethylene – dopamine – glucose – benzene – serotonin), all involved in biochemistry or influencing human behavior. It is a reflection on the relationship between humanity and technology, nature and artifice, a reflection that unfolds through evocative evocations of images with an almost hypnotic soundtrack, rhythmically punctuated by the recurring sound of a falling drop. The video was shot on various locations, including China and is now included in the VideoInsight Foundation Collection.
