CYCLE
An audio/video performance that explores extreme sounds in relation to generated images, a work that highlights how audio and video, when closely intertwined, create a different perception of the two media when viewed individually. The entire narrative journey undergoes a constant evolution, alternating between different soundscapes, where phases in which the audio was created exclusively for the image to be generated alternate with others where the video has imposed its own constraints on the sound. The audio component uses almost exclusively synthetic sounds, generated by a series of oscillators, where abrupt signal cuts generate a strong GLITCH component, which constitutes the fundamental part of the sonic discourse and is the first level of interaction between audio and video. The work also explores NOISE sounds, analyzing their densities and highlighting their internal structures. Further sound elements complete the form, creating a more fluid and coherent narrative. The visual component, in its minimal form, turns out to be almost a pure representation of the audio, becoming almost a scientific instrument, using exclusively generated images, where a single form reduced to the minimum terms, develops geometric and evolutionary complexities that seem to represent the connection between sound and its spatial dimension.
