Brain It

Contains AI-assisted elements

Brain It is a two-minute music film by Japanese artist Hidehito Kawai, released through his project Rotten Banana. Inspired partly by hearing gamelan while travelling in Southeast Asia, the work follows a figure from meditation into a shifting world of mandalas. An unsettling passage interrupts the journey before vivid colour opens into a personal vision of nirvana. The final image expresses a central idea: the individual contains the whole while also remaining one element within it—part of the mandala, part of the universe. Concept, lyrics, direction and editing: Hidehito Kawai. Visuals were created with generative AI under Kawai’s direction and editing, using Nano Banana Edit, FLUX 1.1 Ultra and Kling 2.1 Pro. Musical style was developed by Kawai with ChatGPT; the recording was generated with Suno. © 2026 Hidehito Kawai.
