Bogini Funga

“Bogini Funga” is an immersive audiovisual installation that constructs a speculative ritual devoted to mycelium as a transformative force and future form of collective intelligence. Combining hand-drawn animation, spatial sound and sculptural fabric, the work creates a shifting environment where fiction operates not as escapism, but as a tool for reimagining reality. The installation proposes fungi as both myth and infrastructure: invisible networks capable of surviving collapse, regenerating ecosystems, and challenging anthropocentric hierarchies. Sound compositions generated from recordings of the artist’s body merge with animated imagery, forming an unstable space between organic evidence, fabricated mythology, and sensory experience. The work takes the form of an open, site-responsive structure that changes with each exhibition context. Its spatial arrangement is never fixed, allowing the installation to absorb and react to the architecture, atmosphere and movement of the audience. This instability becomes part of the work itself, emphasizing process, interdependence, and collective participation over a singular, closed narrative. “Bogini Funga” uses fiction as a critical strategy. By constructing a quasi-religious narrative around fungal consciousness, the work questions dominant systems of knowledge, belief and authorship, exposing how cultural realities are collectively produced and sustained. The installation treats the end not as catastrophe, but as transformation, inviting viewers to reconsider what forms of coexistence, perception and collective imagination may emerge beyond the human-centered worldview.
