Backup_villa_V783_fin2

Backup_villa_V783_fin2 is a gameplay documentation of an interactive simulation in which an ancient city is reconstructed through machine memory. The project does not aim for historical accuracy; instead, it presents the past as a corrupted backup, assembled from fragments, glitches, missing textures and algorithmic guesses. In the video, I move through the virtual villa and its surrounding landscape from a first-person perspective. Frescoes, mosaics, architectural fragments and artifacts appear as unstable evidence: not facts, but speculative images generated from incomplete data. The work explores how technologies reshape our perception of history. When a machine tries to restore what has been lost, it inevitably produces errors, and these errors become a new visual language. The video can be viewed as documentation, but the project itself exists as a game environment where each viewer can experience their own route through fragmented memory.
