A Visit with Bina48

In this silent video, the viewer slowly approaches and passes into a gossamer-like residence, soon encountering an entity that seems to blur the boundary between portrait bust and living being. The viewer then glides back and forth before this being, gradually drawing closer before rather briskly pulling away, passing through the walls of the structure and observing the building recede into the distance. The structure depicted in this video is a point-cloud recreation of the building that serves as the IRL "residence" of the android robot Bina48, the entity that is featured in this piece. Here, the data points in space have been left clearly visible, their millions of points of information suggesting a metaphor for the data that comprises the android’s “brain.”
