A Reich Experiment

Spent an early Sunday morning learning how to compose in Steve Reich’s style from scratch. Layering guitars, marimbas, and piano. A simpler approach where I stuck to 3 chords instead of the 12 or so Steve Reich might pick. I stuck within my capabilities! I Created this visual dimension by taking parts of earlier works and reimagining them into this. These shapes hold the DNA of my first ever film, Blythian Memes, parts were taken from that film reimagined and reshaped in four films between this one and that one. The music is a simple experiment, but a fun deep dive into understanding minimalist composition and phasing. Let me know what you think in the comments!
