A Place

A Place is a video performance recorded with a mobile device attached to the artist’s body during a journey from land into the sea. The work begins in the restless flow of contemporary life, marked by acceleration, noise and a sense of purposeless movement. As the body moves toward the water and finally submerges, the video stages a search for silence, pause and meaning. Underwater, perception is transformed. Sound becomes muffled, time seems to expand, and the body enters another rhythm, suspended between control and surrender. The sea appears not only as landscape, but as a threshold: a place where silence, meaning and time operate according to different laws. Through this passage, the work contrasts the exhaustion of daily acceleration with the possibility of another form of presence, more porous, slower and deeply embodied.
