The PolkaVox Notebooks
The PolkaVox Notebooks is a digital conceptual art project structured as a library of short video works and aphoristic critiques—apothegms that turn overlooked patterns of everyday life into reflections on contemporary human attitudes. The project combines filmic techniques, AI-assisted animation, and literary rhetorical practices to deliver social commentary through short, pithy statements. The ambiguous character of PolkaVox provides a distinctive voice for delivering these apothegms with humour and nuance. Within the fast-paced environment of social media and AI-generated video, PolkaVox uses the short-form format as a space for play, experimentation, philosophical inquiry, and critique. As an installation, PolkaVox is presented as an interactive listening and viewing station: a monitor, headphones, a tactile menu controller, and a media drive housing the complete library. Visitors navigate the work on their own terms, moving through the collection without a prescribed narrative.
