All eyes on IDAF: twelve artists to follow on CIFRA! This playlist is a CIFRA selection of artists from the wider Istanbul Digital Art Festival programme whose works can be explored on the platform. It is not intended as a full overview of the festival, but as a focused route through several practices that resonate with CIFRA’s interest in artificial intelligence, new media and digital art. As I prepare to visit IDAF, I wanted to look at the festival through the artists already present on CIFRA and offer a small personal route into the programme. The Istanbul Digital Art Festival, an international platform where artificial intelligence, new media, and digital technologies meet art, is back with its sixth edition. Led by Festival Director Nabat Garakhonava and Artistic Director Esra Özkan, the festival’s curatorial team includes prominent figures Rahim Ünlü, Samed Karagöz, Niyazi Erdoğan, Evgeniya Romanidi and Avind. This year, the festival focuses on artificial intelligence, not only as a technology but also as a creative tool that transforms how artists think and produce. Works that reinterpret traditional art disciplines with digital technologies bring together the cultural heritage of the past with the creative forms of the future, offering a new perspective on the transforming language of art. Retell Artificial intelligence does not create in isolation; it feeds on our collective memory, our mistakes, and our dreams.
