Films from Prague's Underground

The playlist is of Prague's underground performance and poetics collective OBJECT:PARADISE. The collective's mission is to promote contextually-dependent happenings where methods of curation are dynamic, pragmatic, and interdisciplinary and conventions are static, relative to and dependent on the moment in which they happen. Annually since 2019, OBJECT:PARADISE releases a short, 30-minute film on VHS that is composed of actions, happenings, performances, readings, and interviews from the Prague underground. Featured in the films is a diverse community of creative young people who are looking to challenge what can and can't art be. The quality of the films is, equally, representative of this objective; viewers will find that no one in the community is concerned with making "good" "art" and, instead, they are only concerned with making something in the moment, together. The amateur films are shot and edited by Tyko Say, founder of OBJECT:PARADISE.
